We Malaysian extend our help again!

As most of you know, the last day of my donation is on 11th Jan and I'm broke (out of cash) after buying the goods to the children and the school yesterday. My wallet only left less than ~RM 40 equivalent and have to wait for my colleague who is coming on Wednesday to bring me some cash. Getting money out from Malaysia bank is a challenge in Senegal, Africa and there is no such thing as credit card here. I was touched by the heart and persistent fire from my malaysian friends who wish to extend their help the children in the village....the money keeps going in but no way for me to extract it out here. Well finally I called up a friend who is working in Malaysia Embassy and without any hesitation he is willing to borrow me some local currency and will transfer to him later via malaysia local bank.....really appreciate his help very much. Well with the local money I have......let's go for round 2 :-) We donated 25 bags x 50kg = 1250kg today!! Wow great work my fellow friend. With deep appreciation I would like to say thank you on their behalf for your kind heart and generous contribution. I spoke to the English teacher and asked her whether the rice for yesterday is enough for everybody and she said yes...you see how contented they are? Each of the children get 4kg to bring back for their whole family yesterday! Well I tell her, we are going to give you more......and she gave me a great smile. I also understand from her that the village held a praying session yesterday evening to those who help and contribute for this mission.

transportation2 boy help carrying rice2

Well nothing is smooth today and somehow the route from the shop to the school was blocked. I have to walk to the shop and back to the school and only transportation left for the rice is horse. Again 1 Horse Power x 2 trips which cost around RM 16. On your right, you can see the boys help to carry the rice as well.....one bag of rice is 50kg!!

Thank you Malaysians on behalf of the children and school of Thiaroye Guinaw Rail, Senegal Africa

I believe most of you still remember the last blog from me and saw the condition of the children and school at Thiaroye Guinaw Rail a village located near Dakar, Senegal. Many of my friends and family were sympathized of the people in the village especially the children and offered many ideas to help them. Few of my friends stand up and offer them help by collecting donations from their friends and family. I take this opportunity to honor them for their kind heart and willingness to take up such an honorable mission for the children and trust me in person as a representative. For this I would like to specially express my gratitude to Alfred Kuan, Ee Vern, Wei Tyng, Teresa, Margaret and all of you who with a kind heart, donated for this mission. Not to mentioned my Senegalese friend Mr.Sarre and Bieujeul for helping me to co-ordinate for this mission. In my last blog I point out the quote "Sometimes our work feels small and insignificant, but remember a small ripple can gain momentum and build a current that is insurmountable". Within a short period of notice (2 days), we have collected a total of RM 5028.80 from fellow friends in Malaysia. With great honor to those who helped whether small or big amount but with sympathetic and kind heart, I would like to testify your work with photos of them.

On my right is my company car taking the goods...thanks Mr.Gueye (my driver). Also I saw them buying only one scoop of tomato from the grocery shop.....imagine the seller use spoon scoop one table spoon and put into small plastic bag and I saw one lady only buy one bag!! Can you imagine how poor they are. We all waste tomato ketchup in McD like nobody business!
